This week's topic for Friday November 24th suggested by Lisa: COMFORT!
" I recently splurged on a new office chair, and it is making a huge difference in how my back and neck feel at the end of the day, since I spend a lot of time at my computer. Now that the weather has turned a little chilly in the mornings, I'm using my heated lap blanket on my chair to make my work spot even cozier. I wonder what other artists do to make their studios more comfy. Comfort foods? Family photos on the wall? A cozy spot for an afternoon nap?".
The Comfort element in my studio is a visual one. I have a few different bulletin boards in my studio spaces. This board is directly in front of my laptop and contains old photos of my family (2nd grade soccer! OM teams through the years, a picture of my mother holding me in front of a turquoise 1950's car), new photos, postcards of my artwork and of friends artwork, funny political items. It's actually a lot like my refrigerator, once something makes it onto the board or the fridge it doesn't usually come off. An archaeological view of my life that has a very comforting and calming effect and never fails to bring a smile to my face at the end of a hectic day!

what a lovely site you have. i like your header, too.

I'm like that too. Except when I get to pictures of me in the '80's. Those are scary! lol

Like that expression - "an archaeological view of my life".

I'm like that too, although not so much pictures of me. I tend to put up pictures of friends and family, postcards, and small pieces of art.
