The first beautiful weekend of the season, we decided to ride the
Hall Ranch open space. We ride somewhere every Sunday......Come along with us today!
As I rode up to my friends house I heard this sound....buzzing....lots of buzzing. These are bee's, hundreds of them. Apparently the hive got a new queen and kicked everyone out.
They are homeless......homeless bees. A bee keeper was called to move the hive to a new home....quite an astounding site!
and babes...ha ha, all fresh....BEFORE the ride....
We started the morning taking our bikes for a hike....it's one mile up of very steep, rocky trail before you get to the fun part. ALSO, maybe because it was the first really nice weekend....it was mountain bike freeway! Lots of male testosterone pumping here. Can I suggest designated hours for those guys to ride and others for us, who enjoy riding but also enjoy looking around, smelling the roses and snapping some pictures??? Puleese!!!
Bluebells and cactus....please click on the cactus image to see these amazing, silky, iridescent petals.
Going up.....we were not the only ones hiking with our bikes
a glimpse of Longs Peak
A snack break
ahhhhh, the meadow at the top...I'll catch up, wanted a picture of this view!
the payoff.....flying downhill!
what ARE you crazy people doing here???
Back down at the bottom......84 degrees!!!
Thanks for coming along, hope you had as much fun as we did!!!
