This weeks topic.....Fave item in your studio/craft space- why do you love it and how does it inspire you (art or journal+ photo)?

Well, I realized more than a favorite object that I have been inspired by lately, it has been a concept.....of house, the protection and support of home and family....neighborhood, community. I've been working in the studio, creating a body of work for the upcoming Studio Tour and see a definite theme going on here.
A neighborhood of Spirit Houses...each holding some special, protective feeling...a moment.
I made these little house cards to present the Spirit Houses on....I was searching for the right words to accompany these little pieces when I checked my email and saw that eb... one of those 'women of the perfect sentiments'... had left the most lovely of comments on my blog.
Again....an act of community....that 'neighborhood' of kindred spirits....that completes the work so perfectly. Thanks eb for lending me your words!

funny how the art i sent was also about houses, and even though i'm not in the house of my dreams i'm grateful for the beautiful home and neighbors that i have right now.

It is sooo funny, Sometimes I wish I could call my blog friends up and say. Inspiration DAY!!
Yesterday, I was about to do 20 million things.. But then I thought. I am going to see my mom... And, I jumped in the car and off I rode.... I spent the day with her.. It was great........ That was inspiring for me....
You have awesome skin!!! I know that sounds weird. But, I am a skin and skin tone girl.... I love ruddy faces of the victorian times, I love tale charred faces of tribal people, and of course, I notice nice smooth even toned skin too.. Weird, I know. Freaky I know. No harm.. xxo :) ;)

Stephanie i just love these little spirit homes...they're just perfect little gems to honour a home and all it emcompasses.

Oh Stephanie, your work is SO beautiful! And I am completely loving your photo shoot! You have no idea how many of my pictures have a cat's tail or paw cropped out of it!!! LOL! :-)

Stephanie, these houses are wonderful! Truly, they are beautiful. I so wish I could join you on the studio tour - to check out your artwork in person, to peak into your studio, to pet your pooches (who look like they are loving their photoshoot) and of course to meet YOU! :) I just checked your shop/portfolios and can't find these little houses. Will you be selling them in the shop?

The spirit homes are awesome. It says so much - house a spirit, spirit in the house - all positive - so important.
