We went to Denver last night...looking for art. First we have been trying to see the All Colorado show, that Linda has a piece in, for a couple of times now, but for one reason or another the gallery is closed. Tonight it was closed because of the holiday weekend. We found shelter from the 20 minute pounding rain at this great restaurant...after dinner...
blue skies again.
We have heard of this new art area in Denver, the Rino, of galleries and studios and this being first Friday, thought we'd find much to feed our appetite for art....
we found lots of great street graffiti, but not much in the way of galleries...
until we stumbled upon the Dry Ice Factory.
Here we hit the mother lode....a communal gallery space,
for the many studio spaces
with huge windows looking out on the Denver skyline
two floors of studios and galleries....
this installation by 3 artists that documents their world travels....each with a different color string holding photographs and memorabilia...where the strings converge on each other is a shared journey...
a fitting way to end our evenings journey.
Happy 4th! for those of you that celebrate this day...

What a great post on the art scene! The Dry Ice Factory looks fantastic - thanks for the introduction. Wasn't that rain freaky? Here to...downpour...and then blue skies. Happy 4th! xo frannie

Happy4th :) I love the installation in the last two photos. I think I will steal that idea as a decoration in my studio...I have so many cards and memorabilia that needs to be seen.
Denver seems to be a happening place.

lovely post...
great travel exhibit.
especially the criss crossing of strings reminding us that we are ALL
inextricably tied to one another.

How cool...and Hooray to Linda and her placement in the Never-Open Gallery!
That woman's head-graffiti is TOO great.
You're a Treasure Finder, (and a Treasure) for sure!

I love the three artists travels idea...very intruiging and probably fascinating to look at....
That looks like a fun space to be living and creating in..2 stories of roaming space.
Great images once again...you never ever fail..love the one also where you are peeking in to see the art..so dissapointing...the holiday weekend should have places open for the public to experience unusual joys..don't you think Steph?
