3 days of rain and cool make it all the lovelier to remember last week...under sunny skies...
I met Lisa and Monica at the New Belgium Brewery. I heard about the Fly By Diner on Lisa's blog and knew I had to come up and join them.
New Belgium has to be one of the coolest places to work...according to Tess there is a waiting list for job applications/interviews. They have re-invented what working for a corporation means....an astonishing amount of creativity oozes from this place.
I have wanted to visit for some time now as a few years ago I was fortunate enough to help Mario Echevarria work on these mosaic pieces that surround the new brew vats....
there are 3 of these, each banded with an enlivening story of the owners and employees loves, joys and philosophy of life.
every corner, nick and cranny is filled with artwork...
beckoning one to follow their folly.
We were given a behind the scenes tour...the kitchen for employee meals...
the employee lunchroom and where tour participants are treated to beer tastings...
these long tables are partitioned into segments that hold little 'cabinets of curiosity' about the seasonal brews....chairs made of bike rims...
