The price of your ticket allows you to select a bowl from the hundreds donated by people all over town, the ability to bid on auction items...where my painting will be, as well as 2 bowls of soup, bread and a dish of ice cream.

I thought I'd share a new painting for Mexico Monday as it's time again...when people around here begin thinking about gathering to paint bowls and make bowls...readying for the Empty Bowls event to raise money to feed the hungry in our community.
This year I thought I would photo/paint an empty bowl for the art auction. The image is a wooden bowl 'placed' in the hauntingly beautiful doorway of the abandonded school in Pozos Mexico.
Mark you calendars, buy your tickets for this years event and come and bid on my painting.
This full moon, sometimes referred to as the Hungry Moon, named by some native American tribes due to the heavy snows of the season which made hunting very difficult.
It's also the time of year to gather together to paint bowls for OUR Center's annual fundraiser to provide services for those in need in our community.
Crackpots provide bowls to paint and donate to the Empty Bowls event....a great way to spend the evening with friends, enjoy a glass of wine....invent new uses for tools on hand...
In 2009, OUR Center served 143,179 meals and distributed 887,571 pounds of groceries to individuals and families in need, 2010 will likely see an increase in these numbers....

So many people attended, I hope they made lots and lots of money because the need is huge.
A Friday night gathering.....to chat with neighbors....eat food, drink wine,
and paint bowls to donate to a local charity function. Empty Bowls, to benefit Our Center on March 21st. For the price of admission you select a bowl from hundreds on display...fill it with soups, breads and ice cream...then take your bowl home.
