Thank you to Julie and JeriAnn for hosting Getting Arboreal over the past year where we have been following the trees in our world through the changing seasons. My Ornamental Pear has had a trying couple of years, losing large branches to heavy snows...but she carries on....
and isn't it amazing how the minute the blossoms begin to open...
they know...
the honey bees coming visiting to drink of her sweetness from her bee-size cups.
Act II finds my tree struggling, we experienced unusually early freezing weather and snow and were robbed of most of our fall color.
in August...green from our cool, wet summer.
then in October we were hit with freezing cold and snow and a particularly heavy snow snapped MORE limbs.
she was recovering from the loss of a huge limb last year...
as the sun sinks in the west we enjoy the leaves on the remaining branches as they turn orange and red and wonder if she will still be with us in the spring for Getting Arboreal, Act III.

This is the Ornamental Pear tree that sits outside the Mango Studio.
We planted it about 6 years ago to replace the old apple tree that was original to the apple orchard that stood here before the neighborhood was built.
A huge show storm 2 years ago split the trunk and we thought we lost the tree...we were advised to take it down.
we decided against that recommendation...
This is ONE of the treats of being out in the Mango Studio, to watch the progression of the seasons as it marches through the garden and trees.
