I have given you glimpses inside homes of some of my very creative friends in the past...
and wanted to share this with you, Linda's Indian that she tiled and that stood watch over her home for the studio tour last weekend. I didn't realize she was home or would have shown you INSIDE this fabulous place...
next time.
This handsome guy stands guard over her lovely front porch and the 'rug'
that she painted this summer.
Just returned from the farmers market and the BOUNTY of goodness there. Have been reading Michael Pollan and am inspired to cook and freeze my way through the upcoming season.
The 45th annual Holiday Home Tour where they fill homes (that you've ALWAYS wanted to poke around in) with holiday fare to raise money for local charities. This year they included art by local artists for sale in the homes too. Thought I'd give you a little tour of my favorites.
The dining room in this gorgeous craftsmen style home built in 1907 by the Empsons of the Kuner-Empson Cannery.
Holiday crafty idea....the little vases are Christmas tree balls with the tops removed glued to shiny disc stands.
This home has been extensively renovated with a contemporary edge complimenting the historic details.
Large, spacious, inspired rooms....
Tess and I were practically screaming over the colors in the kids rooms!
Next this uber contemporary home in the Prospect neighborhood. It's a spec home..for sale...a local home gift store owner had purchased furniture on eBay that was used on the sets of The Grinch that Stole Christmas....What a treat! The furniture is higher than normal, that must be how all the Who's in Who-ville looked so small. It brought back favorite memories of a trip long ago to Disneyland where my favorite place of the entire park was Minny Mouse's home and her fantastic comic book furniture in Toone Town!
It was kind of beat up, but that gave us a glimpse of how it was made...carved styrofoam covered in some sort of plastic....Hollywood magic...
I so WANT this bedroom set!
dream-y holiday fun....
What holiday time traditions do you look forward to?
Don't you just love when a new, wonderful, creative soul happens by for a visit? Linda from Lime in the Coconut, a bright, beautiful Florida spot, happened by the other day opening my eyes to another world of lovely blogs. She is posting an open house tour...blogland style....hosted by Hooked on Houses. This is an idea that crossed my mind more than once.....and as I am a house peeping FANatic, I thought I'd join in.

inside is filled with marvelous flea market finds....
little vignettes
and artwork in every nook and corner.
This bedroom boasts an old metal chest of drawers that she took to a local automotive paint shop.....I helped her pick through HUNDREDS of colors.....why is it cars on the road are blue, white, red, black and brown...because, I'm telling you...there is every color under the sun available.
she choose turquoise, brown and butter yellow.....
Susan designed these ingenious window coverings in her home.....they can be configured in a multitude of different ways....
Upstairs in the bedroom loft....a view of the red painted wall that was salvaged from the original structure....
skylights to watch the stars and light the leaded glass....
