The first day of summer! This weekend was perfect summer weather, we jumped on bikes for the garden tour...4 lovely gardens to visit
my neighbor Chris of Maxine fame...
who is helping her daughter vie for the giant cabbage title this year...
a variety of beautiful gardens...old roses..
shady gardens
gardens with lovely artistic touches...
and Japanese feel..
the subtle...
and the not so subtle...
interesting garden sculpture
and Mango-ness...oh those were mine :)
I was not on the tour
A wee bouquet, sold by a little girl at one of the gardens...so lovely
and a garden drink recipe to share that just happened to land in my inbox;
RHUBARB PUNCH
To make the concentrate:
Ingredients:
10 c. chopped rhubarb
1 1/2 c sugar
3 (6 oz) cans frozen lemonade
9 c. water
1.Bring above ingredients to boil and simmer until soft and mushy.
2.Strain liquid through sieve or food mill.
3.Discard the leftover mash or use to make jam,pie,ice cream topping,etc.
4.Cool liquid concentrate. It may also be frozen in a freezer bag.
