Book it on over to the Irresistible Art and Story gallery tomorrow evening to hear David Costillo talk about his book publishing experiences. 

Graffitecture: Chicago Graffiti Artists Attack Photographic Spaces is just one of David's book, this the first of many scheduled events highlighting artists and their books.  Photographs of urban interior and exterior spaces were given to graffiti artists to draw, paint and create their art on....

 

These images are taken from their website and offer a peak into this fantastic book.  I look forward to hearing both about his work on the book and working with the individual artists and am excited that we are able to offer this from our new venue ...bringing artists and their books to the area.

It's Irresistible

This, our new venture...a gallery of art and books.  Books made by the artist about their art or stories of any kind...

This has been the dream of Barbara Stone's since she took over the space previously occupied by Irresistible Books, which closed when her friend and owner of this well loved used bookstore suddenly passed away.

We opened this weekend...Irresistible Art and Story.  Barbara turned half of this downtown space into this new gallery that invites visitors to look at the art, sit and read through the art books, it provides the artist with a venue for their art and books.  We envision story telling, art workshops and speakers hosting events in the space.

We're a small group now but have the potential for up to 10 artists, if you think you might be interested contact me.

The new space was warmly received at Fridays ArtLink event and we look forward to many more.
