Look at that face! Just look at that face....This work of LOVE was just completed by Monica at Girl Gone Thread Wild with the help of 180 artists....
She stands 40" tall, weighs 6lbs, 2ozs and her dress is covered in 180 2" art squares.
The love and thoughts and prayers that are infused in this girl, well, I can FEEL it! AND, there's one of my squares...I spot it!!!
The sad truth is we have all been touched by this disease in one way or another. My thoughts and prayers when making my squares were centered on Ann and Audrey. High school girlfriends, both doing well and in remission!...Ann, here in the middle, at the Race for the Cure a couple of years ago, and Audrey, I need a more recent picture than the one I dug up.....you wouldn't want me to share it:)
This girl is...in Monica's words; She smiles because she knows love and is able to give love unconditionally. To many, she is a symbol of hope. She stands for COURAGE and was built by a community of givers.
Monica, you are an ANGEL! for the time and energy and love it took to even conceive of this project!
