Ellen and Kevin Galm of the Java Stop, local coffee haunt in downtown Longmont, are hosting a holiday art show. Their coffee shop is always full of an eclectic collection of local artists work (as well as the artists) so it was fitting to feature the many talented patron's in this holiday exhibit.
My good friend Linda Gleitz, a well known area painter whose work depicts the divine feminine, contributed this incredible work titled 'Undercurrent'.
The Russian artist Kodir Rahkimov, who has been in town for the past 6 months, restoring and repairing some of the wooden pillars and sculpture at the Boulder Russian Tea House has 4 paintings in the show. The Teahouse was a gift from Dushanbe in 1987 to the city of Boulder to celebrate the establishment of the ties of the sister cities and is a must see if you are in the area. Kodir is originally from Dushanbe Tajikistan and is now a resident of Moscow.
Margaret Hartsook, a silk painter, art therapist and Ellen's very talented sister, has her silk scarf paintings in the exhibit. Julia Jordan contributed this lovely painting of the corner window in the Java Stop.

This surreal self portrait is by the Longmont painter, Jimmy Lusero.
The painting of the door to the Java Stop is by Dennis Line and photographer Tony Umile contributed a photo of his morning bagel and coffee. My image does not do Tony's work justice but you can find much information and more photo's of his work on-line.
David Steere creates large, radio controlled airplanes and contributed this small model to the show. Not shown is the work of Susie Jones as well as more artists that will be hanging work in the next couple of days so please, if you happen to be in Longmont, check it out!
