This full moon, sometimes referred to as the Hungry Moon, named by some native American tribes due to the heavy snows of the season which made hunting very difficult.
It's also the time of year to gather together to paint bowls for OUR Center's annual fundraiser to provide services for those in need in our community.
Crackpots provide bowls to paint and donate to the Empty Bowls event....a great way to spend the evening with friends, enjoy a glass of wine....invent new uses for tools on hand...
In 2009, OUR Center served 143,179 meals and distributed 887,571 pounds of groceries to individuals and families in need, 2010 will likely see an increase in these numbers....
