This summer has just flown by. It was a first for me, the first that Tess did not come home. She had an internship in Denver.....what a great experience, she got to do her own projects, work with clients...lots of real world stuff.
Tomorrow morning she is off to Asia for a study abroad. She flies from Chicago to meet up with the rest of the kids then off to Beijing. Good thing they have a 15 hour flight since she has a bit more work to complete. She's been working on a project for the past few weeks with a team from China, the students sound so sweet....amazing that they speak English so well...oh how the world accommodates us. I'm sure she'll pick up some bits of the language working with these students. They will be doing design projects with 2 universities then traveling the rest of the time.
Here's a little taste of where they will be;
Beijing; Prince Gong's Garden, Forbidden City, Tian An Men Square, the Great Wall, the Olympic structures...flight to Hong Kong, Monkok, ....flight to Osaka, Yamatoya...train to Kyoto, many temples...travel to Kasugai City, train to Chubu University....travel to Tokyo...
We spent the entire day and most of the night checking off lists, packing....unpacking....repacking....
We'll leave for the airport at 3:30 in the morning, so when I get home and take a nap I'll catch up on my blog reading! They will be keeping a blog....yay!!...so I'll be able to share their experiences.
Aghhhhhh, it goes so fast!!! What a journey this has been and continues to be....I'm so happy that Tess has a sense of adventure and love of travel...oh the places you'll see....
Love you kiddo!!! Safe trip!
I love you Boogie!
