Here it is, Crusade No.12 over at Michelle's Street Team.
Funny, I never realized I had SUCH a crush on orange...deep yellow, marigold color until I began blogging, then....WOW...it's everywhere, in every post I make!!
In combo with Dia de los Muertos, my OTHER serious crush, well it just makes sense...
Mango salsa....those rich colors...
oh, those luscious pumpkin blooms...
let us not forget the great one....
Dia de los Muertos....the orange glow of burning candles, graves smothered in marigolds...alters to those that have passed. Someday I will be in Oaxaca for this festival, to wander the cemeteries and photograph the rituals. I have just placed an order for more lotteria cards, that I have been using to make these dress alters, this game has been around in Mexico since the 1870's...I would love to find some really old cards, the images must be amazing!
and finally, the potent memory of Ne-hi Orange soda that these glasses evoke. My grandfather would serve the soda to us in these circus glasses along with potato latkes hot out of the skillet. Just add candles and I can make an alter to him right here.
Tis the season.....
A gorgeous and warming post It is cold and windy here. I too love marigolds and enjoy seeing them used so often in your posts!! Hugs

Stephanie, orange is my least favorite color but I'm beginning to change my mind. What a glowing post this is. The glasses at the end are such treasures.
