It's always fun to discover new tools, new materials and play around with them. I told you about the tape, flashing tape it's called I'm told....made another lined box,
For another recycled piece, the Poppy Goddess has a new home....
I've been waiting... patiently... for UPS to deliver more new tools and materials so that I could join in this months GPP Street Team Challenge. I cut a few right away...
New Tools.....
For my first stamp I carved a copy of a 'borrowed' stamp. I've been using this a lot and knew I wanted the shape for my own. Cutting out the tiny circles....a bit of a challenge....any hints? There is probably a special tool for this.
I had an easier time cutting these circles....my next stamp?....a mask for a henna hand and a carved patterned henna hand....
Lot's of ideas churning 'round....
Beautiful vibrant colors and designs! Carving a henna hand - impressive. I use empty ball point pen refills (the little metal tube thing) to make circle cuts and a straight pin jammed into a pencil eraser for dot cuts. I also usd the metal casing of the ball point pen for larger circle cut. I think those tiny metal cookie cutters might be employed as well.

You gotta try alcohol ink on that fabu tape. It's the best!! Just apply it with a cotton ball or those felt thingys. You will love how brilliant the colors come out. These are all great inspirations. I also use those 10 second studio tools on the tape it and it does cool things too.

You have done a wonderful job carving your stamps, and I can't wait to see the rest...especially the patterned Henna Hand. Happy carving.

I love the way the flashing tape inside the box reflects the background, as well as standing on its own with the embossing.
Nice.
