This was possibly the last chance....I had to work, but Tess and Mr R took a drive to the park...
to watch the Elk play their mating games.
An astonishing number of Elk in the park and around town.
All photos compliments of Tess,
they took to the road in the Mini,
another beautiful view around every turn,
I'll just be quiet and let you look.
Snow is in the forecast for the weekend....I am so not ready for that.
Breathtaking fall images!
Someone I know says that he's NEVER seen the Elk bulk up like they have this year. He thinks it's an indication of the winter to come.
Will we remember this next spring as we emerge from what could be a record breaking winter?

amazing shots. i had never seen anything like that when i lived in your corner of the world. just buffalo over by thermopolis. and where is the snow??? you usually have snow this time of the year at the top of those mountains. hopefully not a drought to come!

What gorgeous landscapes! Look at those elk! What a beautiful part of this country. But snow? Already?? Yes, I wouldn't be ready for that either. But then, I imagine that your state looks very pretty covered in a blanket of snow.

You live in such a beautiful area. I was there once many years ago in the middle of winter...beautiful then also.
I am thinking about joining your party...will let you know soon :) Juggling many projects and family obligations...but it would be fun to do something different.

Gorgeous scenery. Yep, I'm not ready yet either. We had a teensy flake display yesterday. Not enough to stick on the ground, but still, where there's a few snowflakes, more are sure to eventually follow!

Look at that beautiful aspen tree and those gorgeous blue skies! I had forgotten that about the southwest. Now that I see these photos though, it comes back. Wonderful photos! Thanks to Tess for taking them and you for posting them!
