I discovered this project, a view from elsewhere hosted by David Castle, at Seth's. The idea is to share the view from your studio window....provide a mini vacation for the visitor. My current views are from a couple of little rooms....this one a tiny space tucked under the stairs with a view of Melly taking in the world from her perch...
my other room with its one little window to the now cold winter world.
How does the space we work in effect the art we produce?
I will soon be moving into my new digs....a much larger space, relatively speaking...
I'll be looking out onto my own little world....a spring, summer and fall full of art and plant and bird life.
I'm curious to see if this move... to a room of my own....will have an effect on my art.
thank you dear for the tea and the views into your comforting nest - love this studio hopping - scenes from the inside of various creatives...
love these views of yours
the new space will open up a new world...

I've been checking in here between duties for OWOH to see if you have any more "progress" pics of the new digs. Even though I do have a room of my own in the house...that is my studio....garagapalooza will be way more space and my own design. I am so anxious to start clearing it out if only just to measure.
I can't wait to see how yours looks inside!!
Stay warm!
XOXO

is welcoming me in.

did you notice
how there seems to be
a friendly lion shadow
looking out of window #3 ?
see
there on the lower right.
i can see his proud nose
against the sheet rock...
looking out
and
i think he is doing
Deep Listening
and
Paying Attention.
:-)

you will create wondrous treasures
in this new space

Oh I really like these photos and the idea behind it. Nelly is so intent on what is outside and by the way, that room reminds me of one of my rooms. I like couches with lots of pillows and it really looks very homey, lived in so to speak and that is what makes a home. Your new gigs are going to be an exciting time for you so I think it will make a difference. Very nice, take care.

All of this positive energy with room to roam -- it should be a good space indeed! Perhaps Virginia Woolf was right.
Thank you for the pictures into your Western wintery world. It makes me feel as though we are all mutually burrowed into our wintery nests no matter what part of the country we're hibernating in.

The first STAR WARS movie had that great scene where the airship is cruising along, then they hit the "HyperSpace" button and BAM!...the stars go wizzing past and we're in a Far Away Galaxy.
That's YOU, moving into the YOUR new space.

As usual I have so enjoyed my visit here, how lovely to see your colourful home filled with sunshine. It may be winter outside but you have great light there. I do hope you find a chum for Melly, she looks a real character and so loving.
I like this fascinating idea of other peoples views so now I'm off to check it out.
Be happy in your new space. amanda x

I don't know if it's the view that affects us as much as the light. Can't wait to see more of your new studio - no doubt you'll be creating even more wondrous treasures! xoxox

I love your view :)

I'm with everyone, but like Tara, I think it is the light. The light is what brought me to NM and I think it affects everything I do. The view out my window isn't as charming, but the back yard is next, after the great purge is complete! Can't wait to see the new digs, Steph style! Found those shelves yet? smooches

love this idea...
how that which is within us
moves us..and that which is
without.
so appreciate you
and your view...

Look at your little pup on his perch! So cute! Your place looks so cozy, Stephanie. That is the perfect couch for reading a book on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I'm looking forward to seeing photos of your new studio.

I was just thinking on the nature of space and how it affects art on my blog :) I swear we're on a wavelength!
Your house is so beautiful, it looks like just like you :)
