I've been sitting on my hands...ITCHING to play with some paint, but I cannot find ANYTHING at this point. Fingers crossed that in a week or so I'll be moved into the new space and can get busy!
Collaged paper including monoprints on paper towel
In the meantime I'm getting my painting fix over at Michelle Wards Brush Effects Crusade. I'll share some monoprints from my stash, then when I get a space cleared and I can FIND my paints and brayer I'll come play again....fresh...
I photograph prints in each stage as well as the monoprint plate, then I can play with them in photoshop to come up with even more pages that I can use to stamp or collage with more paint or tin. This is a new plate after a couple of prints, I liked the texture on the plate better than the print.
playing with filters in photoshop to come up with another image
another monoprint on a piece of very rough paper
wet squishy brush strokes directly on the plate....
I create even more images by zooming into an area then multiplying the pattern in photoshop.
I'll be back with some new studio inspired brush strokes soon....in the meantime hop on over and dip a brush
steph - you are getting a new studio? swooon! thanks for coming over to share your paint play. i'm like you - often loving the printing tool better than the print. very clever to photograph everything to use in digital trickery.

Playing with color and texture using the computer -- how excellent! These are great Steph. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out of your new studio -- when those pesky missing art supplies agree to be found, of course! I probably shouldn't mention that I'm still searching for art supplies from when I moved four years ago. ;-)

wow - I'm not the only one always looking for that something that was right there just yesterday? - golly - I feel so much better now - but I will say that I love the scrappy things - the little bits of this and that that almost get tossed in the stove - indulged in one of those today - yum...
bright and patterned indeed

Those colours look good enough to eat! Beautiful! And I love to use the stencils in my art too... but then they are gone... and then I have to make new ones... All the more fun! Right?!
