The rains of the past few days have turned the view outside the Mango Studio bright spring green, flowers blooming, basil, tomatoes and cucumbers thriving.....bird song chattering, Melly taking it all in.
I have started a Garden Journal where I am tracking the growth in the garden, new things planted, old varieties kept up with.....drawings of the ever changing view pepper the pages.
The bright green leaves bring back memories of our time with Maxine....the pages remind me of the fast pace of the life of this giant pumpkin and how much fun we had watching her grow!
If you'd like to learn more about this magnificent gourd, I have a few copies of Maxine for sale HERE....
ahhh maxine. will there be a maxine II? It looks like your puppy enjoyed the sun on that great big belly of hers (his?)
(my blog still down; but still working on breathing some life into it)

I am soooo emailing my mom-in-law the link to the book (just in case she hasn't figured out what she wants to get me for my birthday ...). :)

As they warn us of impending water regulations...I can't stop thinking about your gift of rain..even if it was on the holiday weekend. A garden journal is such a great idea! I spent the weekend planting in our huge naked planter and left all the tags on the plants...great inspiration here my friend!

Very colorful. How green everything looks and colorful plants. Nelly looks like he is enjoying the fresh air. It is a good idea to have a gardening book. I have so tried to do that but I always slack off. Nice post, thx for sharing.

wow, Steph! Such a beautiful little paradise you have created with the Mango studio. I'd want to sleep out there! I'm sure creative juices are over flowing at this point, just so juicy a space to create in! Really wonderful, thanks for sharing. xo frannie

Your garden is so lush! I keep waiting for my thumb to turn green but it has flat-lined at an unfortunate puce :)
A book about a pumpkin! You are too cool Steph!

Things are looking beautiful in your neck of the woods. The world surrounding The Mango Studio has come alive with loveliness.
Thinking of Greg and you too Steph.

Always a feast..there is no end to your talents and livelihood. I want rain too...it's dry and beige here in Southern California...Enjoy your garden journal..I've started a new 'while I'm waiting' journal...You can guess it's a little journal that fits in a little bag with little pens where I doodle in while I'm waiting for my kids to come out of school, at the dr. office, etc. Your blog is like the Mary Poppins pavewalk painting that you want to jump in and spend precious time.

I saw seeds in a catalog to grow giant pumpkins and thought of Maxine just the other day! Love your garden...and love the comment about it being a Mary Poppins painting...so true! smooches

Oh my gosh! Look at your garden! How is it that you had snow later than we did in my part of the world yet your garden is already so lush??? I need your greenthumb, that's for sure. Great idea, the Garden Journal.
And you know how much I enjoy seeing Melly. :)
