I was so very saddened to hear of Jeanne-Claude's' death this week...I have seen their work, I have this poster hanging in the Mango Studio, a signed gift from them from THIS project. I hope their proposed project in Colorado goes forward as it would be an incredible experience to work on it and to experience it. My heart goes out....
On an Up beat....Roller Derby this weekend. So much fun, such a kick, these women are awesome! Mr R's son is the announcer for the Caster Rock 'n Rollers, his derby name...General-Lee speaking. I had many more photos, Mr R was shooting with a new camera and I was playing with it too. Toward the end of the evening we got a memory card error and could not retrieve any of those photos. I had my camera as well so snapped a few...but...have you ever had this happen? Do you know of a way to retrieve the images?
Taking the coming week off....looking forward to studio time and time to cook up a storm.
Thanks for the news...I had not heard about Jeanne Claude...very sad for sure.
Your roller girl picture is awesome..love how you slowed the shutter. Looks good..especially her feet.

Oh, no! I was distressed to hear that Jeanne-Claude had died. I was working in NYC next to Central Park during The Gates and took many a stroll. What a loss.
On a happier note, I wish you a yummy week of creativity, Steph. Happy Thanksgiving!

I know there are professionals who can retrieve things from memory cards that we mere mortals can't get.........
I googled
bad memory card retrieve data
and found some places that do that.
I don't know if there is really a difference between one brand of memory card and another. I have all SanDisk cards, as SanDisk was one of the parties to writing the standards for that sort of device. They cost a bit more, but I have never had trouble with one........ [knocking on wood!]

Try ZAR - Zero Assumption Recovery
its a free software program
if you can't find it I will find it and send the link.
Mr. T has used it a few times on our debacles.
SO ROCK AND ROLLAH ! Fun....
But I was so very sad at the news...I did not know his wife had died.
I know that you did that interview and article for Bro's publication and this hits even closer to home for You.

I remember reading about her when she was in New York. It is sad. That link has a little about her and place to sign your condolences
The roller girl looks great. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving. We are all pretty busy right now. You take care.

Hey Steph,
One thing I can say for Jeanne-Claude is she seemed to live her life with G U S T O. She was daring and lived in her dreams! I admire her greatly and did not know she had died.
About Roller derby. You are going to crack up when you hear this! When I saw this photo above, I'm thinking WOW Stephie she is SO amazing. This girl even roller skates!!
Well it's cool that Mr. R is the announcer at the derby! Even if you don't skate, you're still on the inside track.
Have fun creating this week!
Happy Thanksgiving Steph.
I'm thankful that you are in my life.
Love,
Constance

"Things I'd like to be Next time"

Yes, that was sad about Jeanne-Claude's death. I agree with Constance, she seemed to have lived her life with GUSTO! She had such a creative relationship with her partner (husband?).

there will never be another like Jeanne Claude, that is for sure- she will be missed. i always loved how she and Christo were partners in creating- they are rare . and it is a gift and to share your passion with someone that close to you.
i will ask thomas about your chip problem and get back to you- he may know something that i do not.
BIGLOVE to you Steph!
