I am happy to be participating in Rebecca's 2nd annual shrine auction to raise money for the children of Oaxaca.
April 17th - April 24th
For the link to the auction return here on Friday April 16th....for a preview of what I have to offer, read on.
My cigar box shrine opens to a sugar skull image. The sugar skull is intended to make the tradition of Dia de los Muertos sweet, sweet memories to honor loved ones and remember sweeter times.
Real marigolds adorn the inside of the box…like the children of Oaxaca they have fallen away from the bud and scattered….holding the bright gold color of the sun and their spirits
Words that celebrate the innocence of childhood and hope for the future accompany the sugar skull.
A hand carved stamp of the Virgin of Guadalupe covers the front of the shrine along with a crown of marigolds.
The auction will be open to visit, to view and BID on an array of amazing shrines on Friday, April 16th.
Remember....Come back here on April 16th for the link to the auction site...you will be able to view all the shrines on the 16th and begin bidding on April 17th - 24th.
