I heard a story on NPR by Linda Gordon who wrote a book about Dorothea Lange, 'A life beyond limits' and she mentioned a photographic assignment that Dorothea used to give her students...it was to photograph 'Where you live'....
I live in the midst of rosy pink dusted in white...
where by late afternoon the snow melts and my heart soars...
I live in the warmth of a fire....
I live where my vision of the world pours out....
and our adult kids still play games...
Dorothea's students challenged her to photograph where she lives and she photographed her foot, crippled by polio as a child.
where do you live?
I live in a teapot
Where I wear a wig of flowers
For Bees To Buzz Around in.
and.....thats silly isn't it ?
ha
This is a Wonderful Challenge and will think more on it...
Love your thots and photos here - as always.
an' eye needa hug that pup !

Oh Stephanie, this is beautiful, your words... your world. You have transported me, sending wishes for no more snow... (we have snow almost everyday too, but not as much as you)

I live in the heat of the south, perfumed by early flowers. I live in each moment because they pass so quickly.
What a gorgeous and thoughtful post. Thanks!

I live where the sun shines most of the time and there's fruit on the vines (well, not so much right at this time - but I liked the way it sounds - and hopefully there will be before too long ;)
Where you live is beautiful, Steph.

i listened carefully to this story on NPR. and then i went to the NPR website to see the pictures, read more about the life of dorothea lange. of course her "self portrait" struck my heart in such a personal way, living in this broken body i inhabit. i was swept away. her courage and beauty housed as they were. oh...how i could so passionately relate.

Beautiful, beautiful... I come here to be filled up when my well is running low. Thanks for the peek, Steph. I have been a huge fan of Dorothea Lange since my History of Photography classes in college. It was such a treat to hear that report. Wouldn't that make a great invitational online project? "Show us where you live."

you can grow TULIPS in your yard!
too hot for THAT where i live,
Lucky You ♥
:-)
Me?
i live inside an old house
with a secret room,
with a wide window seat
covered in pink pillows
for my girly ways.
i love outside on the beach
with laughing gulls for playmates,
with sea shells and white sand
for my artistic pleasure.
i live in books
that carry me away
and bring me home
again
in time for tea,
in time for visiting
you
here.
♥
i live mostly
LARGE,
i must say,
in my own fashion ♥
