This project is generating lots of buzz...we alley neighbors are thrilled! with the results...and people from neighboring alleys are popping over for a peek. This weekend the installs began, I missed the festivities but Mr R and Don C had cameras on hand.
There were plenty of men with power tools at the ready...
and all hands on deck to help out.
some vintage tools were called into play...
neighbors both small...
and of the four legged variety wanted to assist.
The phrase 'Garbage Can Chic' for the cocktail tables comes to mind...
and then they were done...gracing our alley...Ann's lovely sunflower
the details of which will keep us all...
Cindy and Rick like proud parents of their masterpiece
Jen and John's wonderful piece with the added in ground plumbing feature.
We have more neighbors that are excited to begin theirs...this may be just the beginning.
LOVE all of this. The barbie shoes/boots. The toys, the marbles, everything. Including the bathroom sink.
So wish I lived in a neighborhood where people had a little exhuberance in their natures................
I took pics of some columns in a park in Charlotte NC, several years ago, which were JUST like this. All sorts of random stuff, stuck down for all to enjoy.
Theirs were color sorted. A yellow one, a green one, an orange one.............
:-) Very fun.
How wonderful to get to walk through your alley and enjoy...............
:-)
Thinking I need to keep my eye open, whenever I"m in a thrift shop, for a teapot to sit at the top of my totem....................
:-)
And a bunch of barbie shoes............... To dangle ... somewhere .....
Makes me think -- when we were in SF many moons ago, they had columns of water in their display windows, with thousands of barbie shoes inside, riding bubbles to the top and then floating back down.
You could see them from a good distance away, and think ... "?????" ... and then when you got close, you'd recognize them for what they were..............
:-)

This is FABulous! What great neighbors and "hood" you live in. Now, I have some ideas for my treasured window frames hanging in the backyard! They could use some new life! And I think I've found there new life. Thank YOU for sharing and thanks to the photographers. And, of course, a pat for Olive!
