A White Lined Sphinx Moth
from what I can determine...
hidden ruby wing
Drawing the specimens finding their way into the Mango Studio and my mind is whirling with ideas for using them in future cabinet of curiosity work...
the Sketchbook Project journal has landed in my hands...and it is a curious thing to think this will be sent out into the world, never to return. Plans to join the journal in Seattle next year and peruse them with her and her....maybe you'll join us?
More Haiku My Heart....
the moth is beautiful- what a fun visitor to your studio. And that journal page is gorgeous! What an interesting project... I may have to get my own sketchbook!

oh, StephaniePie, I just can't seem to keep up... I'm so busy watching Dark Shadows and doodling, and then here I see you've posted many stuffs since my last confession!
LOOK at these?! I haven't started my 'Grids and Lines' yet!! I think I may take it to Paris with me, because my travel journal is arguing with me and is usually right. It says, take Grids and Lines. Paris is so classic!
I LOVE that poignant image up top. So delicate.

Since my visit to our local butterfly house, I'm so in tune with the little fliers. How nice for you to have some specimens to study!
Good luck with the Sketchbook Project - such an intriguing thing...

I am intrigued. who gets to keep the sketchbook in the end? you are the light that the moth is drawn to.

Hi Stephanie,
I decided to visit your blog because we are both participating in the Haiku my heart Friday. I love your haiku and your moth. I used to live up in the mountains and would see the most colorful, large moths up there. I think that the moth is underrated for its beauty. Lovely blog. thank you.
