Finding JOY in the long shadows of autumn
and the reflections in calm water...
bumping into friends on the bike path...
and the silky pods bursting forth.
Layers of mountain ranges at the end of the long and winding...bike path ...
and yes Bruce...Aristotle as studio rug.
Long shadows beckon
Change of season has begun
now...ready or not
the photos are great, but the best is the new studio rug! Is that baby missing his dad? that looks like a "wish you were here" greeting card!

These are truly all very wonderful beautiful photos. I would have to be very careful not to step on that dog's tail! Lovely Haiku as well. TReady or not indeed, the seasons will not stand by and wait, yet I never seem to think ahead. (I had to look long and hard for a sweatshirt this morning.)
Peace to you and all you hold dear. Thankmyou for being a friend here in Bloglandia.

every vista...full of golden light and heart.
and then...the seed pod! stephanie, am i right to recognized this as butterfly weed??? or asclepias tubersoa? be still my heart!
it is my understanding that this is the only host plant for migrating monarch butterflies. i have managed to nurse two plants i had to mail order and it is my dream to cultivate large swaths of these beauties to offer nourishment and home to chrysalis.
if there any way you could collect a bounty of these seed pods and send them my way???
it is just the right time to collect them as their pods are bursting open and beginning to cast their winged seeds.
this is a dream come true!

As always, your photos are simply fabulous. I remember the milkweed "fairies" (as we called them) from Illinois where I grew up. They were everywhere and you captured them so beautifully. I hope Aristotle is feeling a bit better in your company. He truly does make a nice studio rug.

Love your haiku and photos. My faves are the long shadow of fall and the mountains at the end of the bike trail.

Love those long winding bike tracks, they look so silent and with much beauty to display!! The silky pods and fibers are amazing photography!!
Of course the best of all is the most welcoming studio rug, difficult to make out the head from the tail!! :) just kidding!!

Can anyone ever be fully ready? Most of the time we just have to forge ahead, whether we think we're ready or not...

Your photos are wonderful and make me wish that I were on vacation. Just time spent reflecting on the passing of the season and being in nature is so essential. I love the seed pods too and that long beautiful horizon you captured. Lovely. Thank you.
