I find great JOY in gathering these distinctive smelling blooms...
gathering in preparation for our Dia de Bloglandia celebration. Some are not fond of the smell...
it is said that the strong smell of the cempasuchil... marigolds create a path that the deceased can follow back for the Day of the Dead celebrations.
The marigolds are as beautiful and rich when dry as they are in full bloom...freshly pinched.
How are you finding JOY?
Oh my -- those ruffly marigolds remind me of the skirts of flamenco dancers. Such fanciness thrills me!

they have a way of speaking straight to our hearts!!!
they take me back immediately to all the dia de los muertos memories of oaxaca and san miguel.
you are tempting me to book a late flight out...and return once more!
