I was introduced to a new friend...a very sweet, very intelligent...very together 90 year young man. Don began writing Dr Suess inspired poems last year and wanted to find someone to illustrate the poem he wrote for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A gift to present to them at his 70th wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks.
I naively said...sure! I can do that. I cut new stamps, used some existing ones to create a one of a kind artbook for his poem. We will make copies for him to distribute to his prodigy.
It was something I have wanted to do...on many levels...a book, working with someone to create a work just for them. Did not think it would take this form but I am delighted with the result.
see what is bringing JOY to others today
What fun! What joy to his family and 70 year anniversary, beautiful : )

now I understand your email! I got it before I saw the complete book! its fun to do a collaborative book with someone whose work you are familiar with! I'm sure it was harder with a new friend and a poem. you did good, kid! Is your thinking pointing to illustrating a book already written? short stories might be interesting???

Okay, Stephanie? Did you cut that stamp? Are you kidding with that luscious color of rosy red pink? Are you trying to make me jealous?!
You do good things. I am not really jealous. It's happy-making!
