These native/volunteer sunflowers are thriving in this heat and lack of water. I think this is the future for our gardens....sunflowers, hollyhocks
and painted English garden flowers
Here I am.
mmm... I LOVE both the painting and natural varieties here, Stephanie! :o) Happy Day ((HUGS))

Good point and a great strategy. With YOUR skills?....you could simply paint the entire garden!

we all need to think of desert style gardens. and rocks!I watched a weather researcher tell how much land the oceans have taken away in the last 10 yrs. between drought and encroaching ocean we are in deep doo-doo! who says no global warming?

thanks for the visit to las rancheritas and their bright dream!!!
i am placing a large silver sacred heart in the balance and the women are contributing two of their whimsical hooked pillows.
i am hoping we can all offer a little something and together our generosity will help them open the doors.
yes, i am making plans that we will go and visit them in the campo and admire all their wares. perhaps we will even be able to sit in their dream restaurant/store and enjoy their goat cheese and salsas on fresh from the comal tortillas!

Maybe that is my problem with sunflowers, it is too shady and moist. I will have to find a new spot! Some of the seeds you sent me are trying to grow... our season is late this year. I am so sorry your beautiful paradise is in flames. You need our rain.
take care... roxanne
