The portals of Pozos...a look back to the past of a people, of a culture
layers of portals that symbolize...to me...the portals we all will travel
this trip to Pozos an experience that resides deep within me...still
in these old stone walls...stories unfold, combining rich traditions of the people of Pozos...then and now, and one that we were honored to witness
I wrote the following after experiencing the Procession of the Flowers
Walking in the footsteps of so many...
wtih so many
Led by the steady beat of the drum
Led by the dead...family members, a melding of cultures
all the dead leading us, yet walking right beside us
Butterflies follow, flit among the procession
always walking
of a culture
of a people
and then
I felt them...I saw them...so vivedly
my dad, his smile bright and light
Helen, Greg...Lise...my grandparents
all
I saw them...I felt them
this poem from my heart for Haiku My Heart
Beautiful. Perfect. I saw them too as we ate and visited with friends and family amongst the alter de Muertos moments. Glad you have returned and glad you had a wonderful journey.
Much Peace

Oh, beautiful, beautiful pics...and you know I have a special "thing" for Pozos! I love it there! I've been there 3 times and would love to go back again and stay in that ethereal wind swept silence for more than just a few hours. It's truly a very special place to feel a connection with the spirits.
