Shrine Making in the Mango Studio

They came with boxes, found objects to share and open minds. 

We had our first class in the Mango Studio.....some exploration with Shrine making

we got messy with paper and mod podge...

Look for the first FAC in the Mango Studio, June 19th, where among art and wine we will show the classes finished shrines.

Getting all my Ducks in a Row

 

Things are heating up over here in the Mango Studio...getting ready for the upcoming EBCA studio tour.  Mr R is cleaning up the yard, fountain is turned on, bringing birds to drink in front of my window.

A chance for you to see the new studio...new mixed media work...lots of bright new oilcloth creations...blurb books, as well as the book binding of Jeff Becker and garden creations by Charlotte Zink.....

Melly has her favorite spot in the sun already pretty settled...

 

the suspended wall of cabinets that could not be more perfect and frees up the 8 ft of counter as workspace, they are hung by steel thread that runs down the inside of the shelves....Dwell, are you checking this out?

it's pretty perfect! light, spacious...the garden will be sprouting up outside the windows soon, the wind-chimes are already playing my background music....Mangolicious! as Ms Fanciful says...

Gettin' Messy

 

Having some fun...getting loose and messy with Alisa in her on-line Graffiti Chic class,

 

already have a bit of BLUE paint on the mango wall...oh no!

You all are so sweet...and patient...waiting for more than teasers of the mango studio.  The bookshelves are going up and I will be filling them full.  Maybe I'll have photos to show you this weekend!

I'm partly moved into the new space.  Waiting on a few built in details...BUT

A View of My Own

 

I discovered this project, a view from elsewhere hosted by David Castle, at Seth's.  The idea is to share the view from your studio window....provide a mini vacation for the visitor.  My current views are from a couple of little rooms....this one a tiny space tucked under the stairs with a view of Melly taking in the world from her perch... 

 

my other room with its one little window to the now cold winter world. 

How does the space we work in effect the art we produce?

 

I will soon be moving into my new digs....a much larger space, relatively speaking...

 

I'll be looking out onto my own little world....a spring, summer and fall full of art and plant and bird life.

I'm curious to see if this move... to a room of my own....will have an effect on my art.
